Dogs are more than welcome at Bewl Water. We kindly ask that dogs be kept under control. Well-behaved dogs are permitted off the lead and inside the Waterfront Cafe.
Please ensure you dispose of dog waste responsibly.
Bewl Water is a dog-friendly location, allowing well-behaved dogs on leads, with some areas requiring leashes, and even allowing them inside the Waterfront Cafe.
What's on offer:
Dog-Friendly Walks: Bewl Water offers over 12.5 miles of dog-friendly walking routes.
Leash Requirements: Dogs must be kept under control and on a lead, especially when passing through the nature reserve.
Waterfront Cafe: Well-behaved dogs are permitted inside the Waterfront Cafe.
Dog Waste: Owners are kindly asked to dispose of dog waste responsibly.
Other Rules: Dogs are not allowed in the nature reserve, cannot swim in the reservoir or drink its water, and are not permitted in the children's playground.
Dog Wash: A self-service dog wash is available, in partnership with Polygon Pets Ltd, offering warm water, shampoos, and a two-speed dryer.
Treats and Water: There are treats and a water station available for dogs.
Areas to Avoid: Dogs are not allowed in the nature reserve, the grass slope and picnic area below The Waterfront Cafe, the children's playground, and the water users' areas and beach around The Boat House.
Nature Reserve: Dogs must be kept on a lead in the nature reserve to minimize disturbance to wildlife.
Other Dog-Friendly Activities: Bewl Water has a 12.5 mile route that's open to dogs all year.
Dog-Friendly Events: Bewl Water hosts dog-friendly events, such as "Big Dog Day Out".
